Join fine artist, Ron Thomson, for an intimate and in-depth two-day workshop painting our best friends, dogs! We will study bird dogs, foxhounds, and puppies, and paint from source photos provided. This is a great opportunity to learn some 'serious' painting skills on a playful and beloved Red Hills subject!
On day one, you will learn how to streamline the development of form and gesture, and block in with a harmonic palette that explores how light's warm and cool relationships influence the subject. On day two, you will learn how to bring your subjects to life with the implication of surface textures of fur, skin, eyes, and natural elements, like pines cones and ground cover.
We'll begin each day with demonstration and Q&A followed by individual guidance as you're working on your paintings. This workshop aims to balance freedom for individual expression and support to strengthen your confidence and skill.
Best for intermediate and experienced level painters. We'll be working in oils and acrylics. Supply list will be provided to registered participants.
