Kick off the new year with creativity! Our Winter program, Sketchbook Society, introduces students to a range of drawing tools and sketching techniques, all while encouraging self-expression and growth. Over four weeks, young artists will learn how to “build up” a piece from concept to final creation. Each student will take home their own sketchbook — filled with the beginnings of an artistic journey they can continue well beyond the season.

Authentic BOB ROSS ® workshop series coming to the Firehouse every SECOND SATURDAY from September to December, 1:00-5:00 pm.
Andy Taylor is a certified Bob Ross instructor, and he loves to share the Joy of Painting! Bob Ross created a fun, easy way to paint for artists of ALL skill levels. If you’ve never painted, don’t worry. He will guide you step-by-step through the painting and when you are done, you will have your own personal masterpiece to take home with you.
If you like to watch Bob Ross paint on TV, then you will LOVE discovering the inner artist that lives in you! You can take one class to have the Bob Ross experience…or take them all to build upon and perfect your Bob Ross painting techniques.
Come experience a “Happy Accident”, pass a bravery test and feel the rush of “beating the devil” out of your paint brushes.

Whether you’re an experienced artist or haven’t picked up a paintbrush since grade school, this class is designed to be fun, approachable, and stress-free. All supplies are provided — just bring your favorite snacks, a bottle of wine, and your sense of humor.
By the end of the night, you’ll walk away with your own hand-painted masterpiece and a whole lot of memories. Bring a friend or come solo — either way, you’ll leave inspired.

Chalk Walk Contest
We are so excited to celebrate our 3rd annual Chalk Walk contest for the River South Festival! The contest is open to individuals and groups. As a registered participant or group of 2-4, you will be given a square of sidewalk located in front of the Firehouse Arts Center and Court House in Downtown Bainbridge. 3×3 Squares will be assigned upon check in on the morning of the event. This event is a wonderful time to express your creative vision and celebrate the beauty of our downtown!

Paint Lab

Paint Lab is a hands-on, interactive workshop series for adults who want to explore creativity without the pressure of perfection. Think game night—but with paint. Each class invites you to collaborate, experiment, and express yourself through playful activities like painting swaps, paint your date and themed challenges.
For August’s class we’ll be experimenting with a Paint Swap! Each participant starts their own canvas—then every few minutes, we swap. Layer by layer, color by color, your painting evolves with contributions from fellow artists. You’ll finish off your original piece, now transformed with a kaleidoscope of styles and surprises.
Two rounds, two directions, endless variation.
Choose your vibe: abstract, realistic, or totally weird—whatever you want.
Every person gets a unique color. Every painting becomes a shared story.
Whether you’re a seasoned artist or just in it for the fun, Paint Lab offers a welcoming space to unwind, try something new, and make something memorable. Workshops will be held every other month on the third Thursday, starting with our first session on August 21st. All supplies are provided—just bring yourself and a willingness to play.
